2009 Reunion - Letter from Mary Ford

Dear Believers,

How excited I am to finally see the first Believers Reunion approaching! I am so anxious to see and visit each of you. The years we spent together were some of the greatest of my life. Watching God work, seeing doors open for us and being able to share in your life was a unique experience.

Many of you already know about the reunion, but let me make it official. First, the schedule:

Saturday, July 11, 1:00 p.m. Come to the church educational building for a time of getting re-acquainted, watching old videos and having finger foods made by the sponsors. You will have an opportunity to visit with Bro. Cox, Bro. Murphey, Mike Miles, Bill Bissell, Mrk Brown, Paul Enis and others. We will then go into the auditorium for an old-fashioned Believers rehersal. Don't worry about the songs. The words will be on large screens. Even if there are a few songs we did not sing during your years here, the ones I have chosen have very repetitive refrains (what you will sing) and solos.

If your spouse wants to be a part of these events, they are certainly welcome. Invite children or other members of your extended family to join us at 5:15 p.m. for dinner with everyone who will be coming for our 125th Celebration of First Baptist Church. After dinner we will all go to the auditorium where we will have a "sing and share" time.

The Youth Group, led by J.P. Sutmiller, has offered to host children from ages 5 and up in our Family Life Center just west of our Fellowship Hall from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. This will be a part of their mission project and will allow them to begin a mission fund for their next trip. If you are able to contribute to this mission fund, please do, if not, please bring your children anyway!

Sunday, July 12, 9:15 a.m. Meet in the auditorium for a final rehersal for our Sunday morning worship. We will begin that service at 10:00 a.m. with singing, videos, drama, etc. tracing the history of First Baptist Church. You will see videos of people who have changed their address to Heaven, including our own Betty Robinson. This will "morph" into a "now" worship service. Of course, we will sing again during this service.

12:00 p.m. Lunch at the Church.

The festivities will be over after church, but some of us may want to hang around and visit some more. Please bring pictures, memorabilia, etc. to share.

Special Note:
Attire: Our regular shirt and jeans. New white T-shirts with our logo, "Hey, I'm A Believer", will be available on Saturday for both services. If you wish to order one, please send your size back so we can order them. The cost will be approximately $6.00 for S-XL, $7.00 for 2X and $8.00 for 3X. If you do not wish to buy one, please bring a white shirt to wear.

Guests:
If you plan to bring guests to the Saturday and Sunday meals and service, please send a reply telling us how many so that we can arrange seating for them. We expect the church to be packed.

Each one of you is very special to me, as well as to all of the other sponsors who worked with you through the years. Please come and be a part of this memorable celebration. You will "make my day."

My love to each of you,

Mary

Please R.S.V.P.
